Avoid Setting Up Tents In Floodplains
Friday, September 10th, 2010While camping next to rivers and even what may appear to be dry streambeds it is important for campers to remember the danger that exists in these areas. Every year there are families who pack up their Coleman camping equipment and head outdoors only to find themselves swept away in a flood. Everyone likes to camp by a river but the water can rise at any minute and should it do that when everyone is in their outdoor camping tents this can lead to trouble. Campers should always find the high water line on shore and make sure camp it set up above this point even when rain is not in the forecast for the area.
