Camping Air Mattress

First when choosing a camping air mattress you need to know the type of trip you will be going on.  A backpacking trip should be the minimal amount of items to make the journey less stressful.  A backpack that is too heavy is just going to cause discomfort.  You also will need to realize that you have a limited amount of space.  The space should be filled with more necessities such as food, first aid gear, and clothing rather than your sleeping comfort in mind.  A self- inflating air mattress may be your best option on a backpacking trip.  This type of camping air mattress is usually thin in design so that you can roll it up and carry it on top of the pack.  It is also light- weight making the gear easier to carry.  When you set up camp for the night all you have to do is open the valve and air will travel through the mattress and inflate it.  In the morning it just takes opening the valve and squeezing the air out to roll it back up and go.

A camping air mattress with a built in air pump is also available now.  You use to have to by a foot petal air pump that would allow you to easily inflate the mattress.  Now you can by a mattress air bed with the pump.  Most of these types of air bed mattresses will require an electric plug.  Camping with these air mattresses will require you to camp in a park with electric or close to your vehicle.  With the electric air bed mattress you will be able to get your bed inflated in thirty seconds and be ready for bed shortly thereafter.

When you go out camping gear and use an air mattress you are guaranteed a great night’s sleep on something soft rather than that hard packed earth.  You will be able to enjoy the experience more and you will have a goodnights sleep out in the elements.  For those who believe they are getting to be a little too old to go camping for all the aches and pains they wake up with, an air mattress can save the camping trip.
